It's stance on compatibility is very much influenced by <a href="https://www.attrs.org/en/stable/backward-compatibility.html">attrs</a> and <a href="https://www.scipy.org/scipylib/faq.html#what-is-the-difference-between-numpy-and-scipy">NumPy</a>. This should come into effect at version `1.0.0`.
